Armature Tube
The Armature Tube is the stainless steel tubular element used as a guide for the movable core which is actuated by the magnetic force generated by the coil. The armature tubes are normally manufactured with standard 300 series grades with low and controlled magnetic permeability values.
The below improved machinability grades are normally NOT used if a particular microcleanliness is required.
Depending on the welding process, Maxival® improved machinability grades have a different behaviour compared to standard grades. This characteristic must be considered during the design and material specification stage.
