Food and pharmaceutical

The hygiene and inalterability of the facilities in the food and pharmaceutical sectors depend on correct design, its proper utilisation and the quality level of the materials used.

Stainless steels, used in environments in which the necessity of hygiene is a determining factor, must have the following:

  • surface integrity (lacking porosity and solutions of continuity)
  • mechanical resistance (to knocks and to continuous and repeated stress)
  • resistance to strong thermal variations
  • absence of fragile and deteriorable protective coatings
  • high corrosion resistance
  • excellent ease of washing the exposed surfaces for efficient bacteria removal and consequent reduction of the retention of bacterial colonies
